Stella Apostolaki
Dr. Stella Apostolaki is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at the Department of Science and Mathematics – Deree and Executive Director of the Centre of Excellence in Sustainability, The American College of Greece (ACG). She holds a BSc/(Hons) in Environmental Science, an MSc in Urban Water and Environmental Management and a PhD on sustainable urban drainage systems and river management options, University of Abertay Dundee, Scotland – U.K, under funding received by the Environment Agency for England & Wales, in collaboration with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), and HR Wallingford Consultants. She is expert evaluator of E.U. Horizon Calls. She has wide research experience and has participated in numerous EU-funded projects. Main research interests: integrated water and stormwater management and innovation; sustainable development; climate change; conservation of biodiversity; ecosystem restoration; public awareness and public education; green urban planning with emphasis on amenity and biodiversity; implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Ioannis Christodoulakis
Dr. Ioannis Christodoulakis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Science and Mathematics at The American College of Greece. He holds a Ph.D. in Paleoenvironment and Luminescence Dating, an M.Sc. in Environmental Physics, and a B.Sc. in Physics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His research focuses on climate and paleoclimate dynamics, atmospheric physics, air quality, remote sensing, and luminescence geochronology. With over twenty years of experience, he has worked extensively with ozone‑monitoring instruments, ozonesonde and radiosonde campaigns, and satellite‑based environmental observations. He has published more than 30 peer‑reviewed articles and contributed to major international projects, including DRAGON, ICP Materials, MATCH, and Copernicus Sentinel validation teams. His fieldwork spans Greece and Cyprus, alongside participation in atmospheric and marine research campaigns. He has taught widely in physics and environmental sciences, supervised numerous theses, and is an active member of several scientific societies.
